Danjo Garan

Danjo Garan is another sacred site situated at the west side of the town. daito It is the religious precinct where Buddhist monks gather for their practices.


Located in the center of the Koya-town, Kongobuji is the Head Temple of Koyasan Shingon Buddhism for over 4,000 temples throughout Japan and overseas.


Okunoin is located at the east side of the town. It is the largest cemetery in Japan, and regarded as the most sacred site in Koyasan.


This facility is dedicated to disseminating the teachings and traditions of Kobo Daishi and Shingon Buddhism.

Reihokan Musium

The Koyasan Reihokan Museum was built in 1921 for the purpose of preserving many invaluable cultural assets and exhibits them.
